An Anansi International and Conscious Collaborative Design Project
Conscious Collaborative is constructing a new office that includes a technology center for Anansi InternAtional train-to-work program.
The Building Design Challenge features plans drawn by Anansi International graduates who were trained in the first 2 month intensive AutoCAD, computer-aided design software, train-to-work program. Anansi International had a successful pilot program at Conscious Collaborative in summer of 2017 in Ghana and will be moving to the next level by using the skills learned to construct a permanent home for both the organization and the program.
Conscious Collaborative will be constructing an office building that includes a technology training room, where young adults will learn AutoCAD and other digital skills, so that they can find meaningful employment without leaving their home community.
That's where we need your support. However small or large your contribution - you are making a design come to life and building a sustainable foundation for women and children while employing skilled young adults from local communities in Ghana.
The Budget: $20,000
The budgeted was developed from estimates by local masons and tradesmen in Ghana and with the help of architect, Chris Lozyniak, at Field Services Unlimited. All building systems were accounted for in the estimates and include contingency for unexpected costs.
Due to currency exchange, this Building Design Challenge only needs $20,000 to finance the construction process from start to finish. Not only does your dollar quadruple to make a greater impact - your dollars are going directly to stimulating the local economy in a disadvantaged community.
